HOPEFUL is an ongoing lay ministry whose purpose is to reach out to those in need. A HOPEFUL bag contains a collection of travel size toiletry items, bottled water, and individually packaged food items as well as a note of hope and encouragement. The idea is to keep a HOPEFUL bag in your car and when you encounter someone along your way who could use some hope and encouragement, give them the HOPEFUL bag. The mission of HOPEFUL is to get us all thinking about simple ways we can show love to others who are in need. HOPEFUL bags are available for pick up the first and third Sunday of each month. Look for our HOPEFUL fence display near the Recreation Center entrance. Also a collection box for your donated items will be next to the HOPEFUL fence. Volunteers and donated items for HOPEFUL bags are always welcome. For more info please contact Barbara Taylor at 251.509.3284 or Jennie Wetmore at 251.533.8002.
