HOPEFUL - Helping Open People's Eyes For the UnLoved
HOPEFUL is an ongoing lay minstry whose purpose is to reach out to those in need. A HOPEFUL bag contains a collection of travel size toiletry items, bottled water, and individually packaged food items as well as a note of hope and encouragement. The idea is to keep a HOPEFUL bag in your car and when you encounter someone along your way who could use some hope and encouragement, give them the HOPEFUL bag. The mission of HOPEFUL is to get us all thinking about simple ways we can show love to others who are in need. HOPEFUL bags are available for pick up the first and third Sunday of each month. Look for our HOPEFUL fence display near the Recreation Center entrance. Also a collection box for your donated items will be next to the HOPEFUL fence. Volunteers and donated items for HOPEFUL bags are always welcome. For more info please contact Stephanie Hunn, 251.377.4729.
Good Samaritans known as Good Sams helps to provide meals for our church family by extending the hand of Jesus during critical times of need, such as illness and the loss of a loved one. Volunteers are needed in three areas: coordinating, preparing and delivering. Coordinators help for a two week period. The coordinator organizes the meal to be delivered by calling those in the ministry who prepare/purchase food and arranges for a delivery volunteer to deliver the meal. Preparing volunteers prepare a single food item (or can be purchased) for the meal. The delivery person delivers the meal to the family (directions are provided to the location of delivery). If you are interested in serving His kingdom through our Good Sams Ministry, please contact Kim Pratt at 251.706.3331.
Do you have a compassionate heart with the gift of writing? The Barnabas Ministry may be just for you!
