These last words of our father in the Methodist movement are words of great encouragement to all of us in these challenging days. Our national economic recession, the cloud of impact of the oil spill, and normal everyday problems have made these last few months difficult for all of us. But what great opportunity to turn our hearts to the only consistent source of hope and life we have—our Lord Jesus Christ! God is good and worthy to be praised in the midst of all of our circumstances! Indeed, “best of all, God is with us”!
We all need God and we need one another as the body of Christ. Worshiping together, praying together, growing together, and serving together. We need August to be a true “homecoming” month at Christ UMC. We need the hope and joy that only Christ can bring to us as we turn to Him. Let’s make worship (sanctuary and NewSong) a major priority during this special month! Invite and bring someone with you!
Special music, guest musicians, guest preachers, casual dress, God’s presence, and your participation will make this a dynamic month you will not want to miss. The last Sunday in August will be all music with Doyle Dykes in combined services in the Christ Center!
Pray, be present, and remember “best of all, God is with us!”
Jesus said that our mission and purpose as His disciples is to help other people discover the joy of being one of His disciples! Jesus said: “Go and make disciples of all nations!”
