For the next few weeks we will be looking at three powerful encounters between Peter and Jesus to discover what it looks like for us to “Jump In.” We realize that accomplishing all that God desires for us to do involves EVERYONE. This summer my wife Crystal and I hosted a lot of our friends’ kids at our pool. Some sat on the side of the pool, others just dipped their toes in, but those having the best time jumped in! Some even did amazing flips as they plunged into the water! Life in church can be similar. Sometimes we are uneasy or uncertain about jumping in fully and completely and often we miss out on the excitement that comes from leaving the side and going deep.
This year, our pastors and leaders decided that the goal of our stewardship emphasis would not be an amount of money to raise. Instead, our focus is to significantly increase the number of people who give regularly to the mission and ministry of the church. We believe God desires for every person to be generous and joyful in giving to God’s mission and, if everyone in our church jumps in, the results will be even more amazing than what we’ve experienced before.
